What you get

Sketch a full arrangement

Drums, bass, synths, guitar and chords each get their own track, so an idea becomes an arrangement without leaving the browser.

Get parts written for you

Ask Agent One for a lo-fi beat, a bassline or a pad, then edit the notes it writes in the piano roll.

Play without paying per note

Every instrument runs in your browser at no token cost on every plan, including Free.

Who it's for

Beatmakers and producers

Puts a drum machine, a bass synth, a wavetable synth and a sampler on one browser timeline, next to the piano roll and the mixer.

Songwriters

Chord One suggests chords that fit your key and VocalMIDI One captures a sung melody as notes, so a song idea gets its chords and its tune down as editable parts.

Music teachers and students

Shows scales on Guitar One's fretboard, Roman numerals in Chord One and oscillators, filters and envelopes in Synth One, in a browser tab with nothing to install.

Content creators and YouTubers

Visual One turns pinch gestures in front of a webcam into chords, a performance viewers can watch in a video about making music.

When to use it

  • You have a hook in your head and no instrument within reach
  • You're stuck on what chord comes next
  • You want to sketch a beat on a laptop without installing a DAW or plugins
  • You generated a song and want to play your own part on top of it
  • You recorded a part as audio and want it as notes you can edit
  • You're teaching chords, scales or synthesis and every student needs the same tool in a browser

What you can make with it

A three-part loop

Put drums on Drum Kit One, a bassline on Bass One and pads on Synth One, each on its own track, then arrange the loop into a song section.

A hummed melody as notes

Hum into VocalMIDI One in Melody mode and the tune lands as MIDI notes in your key, ready to edit in the piano roll.

Chords for a verse and chorus

Set a key and genre in Chord One, click Starter, then send the chords to a new Synth One track for a fuller sound.

A chopped vocal hook

Load a vocal phrase you have the rights to into Sampler One, slice it across 16 keys and play a new hook from the syllables.

A drop-tuned riff

Set Guitar One to 7 strings in a drop tuning, switch on Palm Mute and click out a chugging riff on the low strings.

Chords from gestures

Connect a webcam to Visual One, pinch your way through a progression built on your scale and record it as MIDI.

A beat to start from

Ask Agent One for drums and a bassline, then switch the kit in Drum Kit One or move the notes it wrote. Agent One requests use tokens.

A recording turned into parts

Convert a recorded guitar or bass line with Audio to MIDI, and the notes land on Guitar One or Bass One tracks to re-voice or fix. Audio to MIDI uses tokens.

A .mid file for another DAW

Save any instrument clip as a .mid file with Export as MIDI File and keep working on the part in other music software.

Soundverse's AI instruments are the eight instruments built into AI Studio: Synth One, Bass One, Drum Kit One, Sampler One, Guitar One, Chord One, Visual One and VocalMIDI One. They run in your browser at no token cost on any plan, so producers, beatmakers and songwriters can sketch and finish parts without installing a plugin. The AI comes from Agent One, which writes parts for Synth One, Bass One and Drum Kit One, and from Visual One, which reads your hand gestures with tracking models in the browser.

  1. Open AI Studio

Click Studio in the Soundverse sidebar. It opens your latest project, or starts a new one.

  2. Load an instrument

Choose Instruments under Studio in the sidebar and click a card in the Studio panel. The instrument loads onto your MIDI track, or a new one, and its window opens.

  3. Play, program or ask

Play it in its window or from your computer keyboard, draw notes in the piano roll, or open Agent One from the top bar and ask for a beat, a bassline or a pad.

  4. Mix and export

Add effects and balance the mix, then click Export in the top bar. Every instrument renders into the export, in the formats your plan includes.

Ask Agent One for a beat, a bassline, chords or a lead, and it writes the notes onto Drum Kit One, Bass One or Synth One tracks you can edit.

Hands and voice as controllers

Visual One plays chords from hand gestures in front of your webcam, and VocalMIDI One turns singing, humming or beatboxing into MIDI notes.

Good to know

Inside AI Studio only

The instruments run in AI Studio in your browser. They aren't VST or AU plugins, but any MIDI clip can be saved as a .mid file with Export as MIDI File.

One instrument per track

Each instrument takes a track, and your plan sets how many tracks a project holds: 3 on Free, 8 on Creator, 20 on Pro.

Synthesized sounds

The built-in sounds are synthesized, not recorded. For recorded sounds, load your own audio into Sampler One.

Camera and microphone

Visual One needs camera permission for gestures, or use the mouse, and VocalMIDI One needs microphone permission; a short calibration improves its accuracy.

Frequently asked questions

Are Soundverse's AI instruments free?

Yes. Soundverse's AI instruments are included on every plan, including Free, and playing them uses no tokens. They run inside AI Studio, where the Free plan gives you 3 projects with up to 3 tracks each, and each instrument takes one track. Creator raises that to 8 projects and 8 tracks, and Pro to 20. Asking Agent One to write a part uses tokens, and new accounts start with 1,000 free tokens.

How good do Soundverse's instruments sound?

Each Soundverse instrument is a full sound engine that runs in your browser. Synth One has three wavetable oscillators, two filters and a 12-slot modulation matrix, and Drum Kit One synthesizes 16 pads across 10 kits. When you export, AI Studio renders your notes through the same instrument engines you play live. The built-in sounds are synthesized, so a piano or guitar preset is a synthesized take on that instrument, not a recording of one.

Can I use music made with these instruments commercially?

It depends on your Soundverse plan. On the Free plan, what you make with the instruments in AI Studio is for personal use. Paid plans include a commercial license; the Pricing page lists what each plan covers. You need the rights to any audio you load into Sampler One, and to anything else you upload or record into a project.

What can't Soundverse's instruments do?

Soundverse's instruments run only inside AI Studio, so they aren't VST or AU plugins for another DAW, and AI Studio doesn't load third-party plugins. MIDI keyboards work with Synth One, Bass One, Drum Kit One and Sampler One, in browsers that support Web MIDI. Each track holds one instrument, so your plan's track limit sets how many you can use at once in a project.

What are Soundverse's AI instruments?

Soundverse's AI instruments are the eight instruments in AI Studio's Studio panel: Synth One, Bass One, Drum Kit One, Sampler One, Guitar One, Chord One, Visual One and VocalMIDI One. Each one loads onto a MIDI track and opens in its own window, and you play it from your computer keyboard, the piano roll, a webcam, your voice or, in browsers that support Web MIDI, a MIDI keyboard, depending on the instrument.

Where does the AI come in?

In Soundverse, most of the instruments are classic synthesizers and samplers that run in your browser, and the AI works around them. Agent One writes drum, bass, chord, pad, melody, lead and arp parts onto Drum Kit One, Bass One and Synth One, and can load or reshape Synth One and Bass One sounds. Visual One reads your hands and face with tracking models in the browser. Chord One's AI Suggestions tab picks chords with music-theory rules for your key, mode and genre.

Can I play the instruments with a MIDI keyboard?

Yes, with Synth One, Bass One, Drum Kit One and Sampler One, in browsers that support Web MIDI. Connect your keyboard or pad controller, open the instrument's window in Soundverse AI Studio and play; Synth One and Bass One also respond to pitch bend and the mod wheel. To record, arm the MIDI track and press Record, and your notes land in a new clip.

Can I turn a recording into notes for these instruments?

Yes. In Soundverse AI Studio, right-click an audio clip, open AI Tools and choose Convert to MIDI. Audio to MIDI writes the notes it hears onto MIDI tracks played by Synth One, Bass One, Guitar One or Drum Kit One, ready to edit. Unlike the instruments themselves, Audio to MIDI is an AI tool, and it uses tokens based on the length of the audio.

How are these instruments different from Voice to Instrument?

Voice to Instrument is a Soundverse AI tool that turns a recording of your voice into audio played by an instrument model, such as sitar or flute, and each run uses tokens. The AI Studio instruments are played live, note by note, at no token cost. VocalMIDI One sits between the two: it turns your voice into MIDI notes in real time, which you can edit or play on another instrument.

Pick an instrument and start playing
