Do more with Sampler One on Creator — from $9.99/mo, or ₹399/mo in India. 8 AI Studio projects with 8 tracks each; WAV, stems and 1080p export. Billed $119.88 a year, or $12.49 month to month.

What you get

New patterns from old loops

Slice a loop across 16 keys, drop the slices into the piano roll and rearrange them into a new groove.

Melodies from any sound

Play a vocal, a sound effect or a single note across the keyboard in Classic mode, with loop and envelope controls.

Your sounds, kept with the project

The sample is saved with your project, so it's there when you reopen it and when you export.

Who it's for

Beatmakers and hip-hop producers

Chops loops and vocal phrases across the keys, the way a hardware sampler does, right on the AI Studio timeline.

Sound designers and electronic producers

Turns one recorded note, ambient audio you captured or a sound effect into a playable instrument with its own filter, LFO and envelope.

Content creators and YouTubers

Makes a channel's signature sound, such as an intro hit or a sound effect, playable as a short jingle.

Music teachers and students

Shows how sampling links pitch and speed: keys below the root play a sound slower and lower, keys above play it faster and higher.

When to use it

  • You have a loop you like but want a new pattern from it
  • You have one sustained note and want to play a melody with it
  • You made a sound effect or separated a stem in Soundverse and want to play it from the keys
  • The synths can't make the sound you need, like a real voice or a found sound
  • You want one-shot hits on keys for finger drumming

What you can make with it

A reworked drum loop

Trim the region to one bar, choose SLICE, press Drop to Piano Roll, then move the slice notes around to build a new groove.

Vocal chops

Slice a sung phrase you have the rights to into 16 pieces and play a new hook from the syllables on your keyboard.

A melody from one note

Load a single sustained note, set ROOT to its pitch and turn on LOOP so long notes keep sounding while you play a melody.

A sound effect as a jingle

Download a result from AI Sound Effects Generator, load it into Sampler One and play it at different pitches for an intro sting. AI Sound Effects Generator uses tokens.

A stem you can play

Separate a song you have the rights to with Stem Separator, download the stem you want, and play its phrases from the keys in SLICE mode. Stem Separator uses tokens.

An ambient bed

Load rain, traffic or room tone, turn on LOOP with a long FADE, and move the filter with the LFO for a slowly changing layer.

A slowed, heavier sound

In Classic mode, play a sample several keys below its ROOT to slow it down and drop its pitch together.

A one-shot on a pad

Load a single hit in 1-SHOT mode and finger-drum it from your computer keyboard, adding a track for each extra sound.

Sampler One is Soundverse's online sampler: load an audio file and play it from your keyboard inside AI Studio, in your browser. It's for producers and beatmakers who chop vocals, loops and one-shots, or want to turn a sound effect or a stem into a playable instrument. You get Classic, 1-Shot and Slice modes, start, length, loop and fade controls on the waveform, a filter, an LFO and an envelope, and Drop to Piano Roll to write your slices as notes.

What you can do

What's inside

Sampler One's modes and controls.

  • Three modes

CLASSIC plays the sample pitched across the keys with an envelope and loop, 1-SHOT plays the whole region, and SLICE gives 16 slices from the root key up.

  • Waveform editing

Drag the start and length handles on the waveform, set LOOP and FADE, and switch on SNAP to snap the handles to zero crossings.

  • Filter, LFO and envelope

Low-pass, high-pass, band-pass or notch filter at 12 or 24 dB, an LFO on filter or pitch, and ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN and RELEASE.

  • Voices, root and gain

Up to 16 voices, a ROOT note to set where the original pitch sits, and GAIN for the sample level.

Play and arrange

Ways to use the sample.

  • Keyboard and MIDI

Your computer keyboard, or a MIDI keyboard or pad controller in browsers that support Web MIDI.

  • Fullscreen audition keyboard

Fullscreen mode adds a two-octave keyboard around the root note.

  • Drop to Piano Roll

Writes the region, or all 16 slices in order, as notes at the playhead so you can rearrange them.

Where the AI comes in

Sampler One isn't AI: it plays the audio you give it. The AI comes before it, and those tools use tokens.

  • Sample AI results

Make a sound effect with AI Sound Effects Generator or split a song with Stem Separator, download the result and load it into Sampler One.

How it works

  1. Load Sampler One

In AI Studio, choose Instruments under Studio in the sidebar and click Sampler One. It loads onto your MIDI track, or a new one, and its window opens.

  2. Add your sound

Drag an audio file from your computer onto the waveform, or click the empty waveform to browse. Files up to 100 MB load, and the sample is saved with your project.

  3. Pick a mode and trim

Choose CLASSIC to play it pitched across the keys, 1-SHOT to play the whole region, or SLICE for 16 equal slices. Drag the handles to set the region, then set ROOT, LOOP and FADE.

  4. Play, drop and export

Play from your computer keyboard or a MIDI keyboard in browsers that support Web MIDI, or press Drop to Piano Roll to write the slices as notes. Then mix and click Export.

Why use Sampler One

Any sound becomes an instrument

A vocal phrase, a drum loop, a field recording or a sound effect plays across the keyboard in Classic mode, pitched by the key you press.

Chop loops in one step

Slice mode splits the region into 16 equal slices, each on its own key, and Drop to Piano Roll writes them in order as a MIDI clip you can rearrange.

Shape it like a synth

A low-pass, high-pass, band-pass or notch filter, an LFO on filter or pitch, and an ADSR envelope sit under every sample.

Free on every plan

Sampler One uses no tokens on any plan, including Free. Your plan sets how many tracks a project holds and your export formats.

Good to know

Files from your computer

Load samples by dragging a file from your computer or clicking to browse. To sample a Soundverse result, download it first.

Equal slices

Slice mode cuts the region into 16 equal parts; it doesn't detect the hits, so trim the region to whole bars first.

One sample per track

Each Sampler One track holds one sample of up to 100 MB. Add another track for another sample.

Pitch follows speed

In Classic mode, keys far from the root play the sample faster or slower; slices keep their original pitch.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sampler One a free online sampler?

Yes. Sampler One is free to use on every Soundverse plan, including Free, and it uses no tokens. It runs in AI Studio, where the Free plan includes 3 projects with up to 3 tracks each and MP3 export, and each Sampler One takes a track. Creator raises the limits to 8 projects and 8 tracks and adds WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG and stems.

How good does Sampler One sound?

Sampler One plays your audio file directly, so the quality starts with the sound you load. In Classic mode it changes pitch by changing playback speed, the way classic samplers do, so keys far from the root note play the sample faster or slower; slices always play at their original pitch. Soundverse renders your export through the same Sampler One engine, using the sample saved with your project.

Can I use music I make with Sampler One commercially?

It depends on your Soundverse plan and on the audio you sample. On the Free plan, what you make is for personal use, and paid plans include a commercial license; the Pricing page lists what each plan covers. You need the rights to every sound you load into Sampler One, so clear samples from other people's records before you release.

What can't Sampler One do?

Sampler One holds one sample per track, and Slice mode cuts the region into 16 equal slices rather than finding the hits for you, so trim the region to the bars you want first. It loads audio files from your computer, up to 100 MB each, so download a Soundverse result before sampling it. It runs only inside Soundverse AI Studio.

What is Sampler One?

Sampler One is Soundverse's sampler: an instrument in AI Studio that plays an audio file you load, chromatically across the keys, as a one-shot or in 16 slices. It shows the sample as a waveform with start, length, loop and fade controls, adds a filter, an LFO and an envelope, and plays from your computer keyboard, the piano roll or, in browsers that support Web MIDI, a MIDI keyboard.

How do I chop a sample into slices?

Load your audio into Sampler One in Soundverse AI Studio and choose SLICE. Drag the start and length handles so the region covers the bars you want, and Sampler One divides it into 16 equal slices on consecutive keys from the ROOT note up. Press Drop to Piano Roll to write the slices as notes at the playhead, then move or repeat them to make a new pattern.

Can I sample sounds I made with Soundverse AI tools?

Yes. Download a result from your Soundverse Library, such as a sound effect from AI Sound Effects Generator or a vocal stem from Stem Separator, then drop the file into Sampler One. Those AI tools use tokens; Sampler One itself is free. On the Free plan, what you make is for personal use, and paid plans include a commercial license.

Can I play Sampler One with a MIDI keyboard?

Yes, in browsers that support Web MIDI. Connect a keyboard or pad controller and open Sampler One in Soundverse AI Studio: in Classic mode each key plays the sample at a new pitch, and in Slice mode each key from the root note up plays the next slice. Your computer keyboard works too, and fullscreen mode adds a two-octave audition keyboard around the root note.

Turn any sound into an instrument

Open AI Studio, load Sampler One onto a track, drop in a file, and play it, slice it or write it into the piano roll.
