What you get

A kit for the genre

Ten kits cover 808, trap, rock, EDM, future bass, house, techno and cinematic trap, each tuned and processed differently.

Play it like hardware

Finger-drum on your computer keyboard, or a MIDI pad controller in browsers that support Web MIDI, and record the take onto the timeline.

A starting beat on request

Ask Agent One for drums or percussion and edit the hits it writes, instead of starting from an empty grid.

Who it's for

Hip-hop and trap beatmakers

The 808 Classic and Trap kits, with an 808 kick pad you can tune to sit with your bassline, cover the core of a trap beat.

House and techno producers

Modern House, Techno and EDM kits give four-on-the-floor grooves their kick, clap and hats, with drive and compression across the kit.

Finger drummers

MIDI notes 36 to 51 play the 16 pads in order, so a pad controller plays the kit wherever your browser supports Web MIDI.

Songwriters

A rock or pop drum part drawn in the piano roll gives a demo a drum part without a drummer or a sample library.

When to use it

  • You have chords or a melody and need a beat under it
  • Your kick and bass clash and one of them needs retuning
  • You want to finger-drum a take on a pad controller
  • You want a beat to edit instead of an empty piano roll
  • You recorded a drum part and want it as hits you can change

What you can make with it

Hat rolls for trap

Draw quick runs of notes on the closed-hat pad in the piano roll for rolls, and tune the 808 kick pad so it sits with your bassline.

A four-on-the-floor groove

Load Modern House, put the kick on every beat and the open hat on the off-beats, then add the clap on beats two and four.

Drum fills for a demo

Use the Rock kit and play fills across the low tom, high tom and crash pads from your computer keyboard.

Lo-fi crunch

Switch on CRUSH and DRIVE in the kit processing and lower the FILTER cutoff for dusty, saturated drums.

A finger-drummed take

Arm the track, record a take on a MIDI pad controller, then fix timing and velocities in the piano roll.

A starting beat from Agent One

Ask Agent One for drums for a verse, then switch kits or edit the hits it writes. Agent One requests use tokens.

Trailer impacts

Layer the low tom, crash and FX zap from the Cinematic Trap kit for hits in an intro or a trailer cue.

A recorded groove, re-kitted

Convert a recorded drum part with Audio to MIDI; it lands on Drum Kit One with the SV Synth Kit, and you can switch to any of the 10 kits. Audio to MIDI uses tokens.

Drum Kit One is Soundverse's online drum machine: 16 synthesized drum pads in a 4×4 grid that run in your browser inside AI Studio. It's for beatmakers and producers who want kicks, snares, hats, claps, toms and percussion they can play and program without loading samples. You get 10 kits, from 808 Classic and Trap to Modern House, Techno and Cinematic Trap, with tune, decay and level on every pad and drive, crush, filter and compression on the kit.

What you can do

What's inside

Sixteen synthesized pads and the controls around them.

  • 16 synthesized pads

Kick, 808 kick, snare, clap, rim, closed and open hat, ride, low and high tom, percussion, shaker, crash, cowbell, clave and an FX zap.

  • 10 kits

SV Synth Kit, 808 Classic, Trap, Rock, EDM, Future Bass, Modern House, Techno, Cinematic Trap and one vintage kit, each with its own tuning and processing.

  • Per-pad controls

TUNE up or down 12 semitones, DECAY from short to long, and LEVEL for each pad.

  • Kit processing

DRIVE, CRUSH, FILTER and COMP across the whole kit, each with its own on/off switch.

Play and program

Ways to get a beat down.

  • Mouse and computer keyboard

Click the pads, or use the Q to I and A to K keys for all 16.

  • MIDI pad controller

Notes 36 to 51 trigger the pads, in browsers that support Web MIDI.

  • Piano roll

Each pad has its own note, so you can draw hits with the Pencil and set velocities in the VEL lane.

  • Beat Making layout

The studio menu's Beat Making layout opens Drum Kit One next to the piano roll.

Where the AI comes in

Drum Kit One is a drum synthesizer, not an AI model. Agent One and Audio to MIDI are the AI around it, and they use tokens.

  • Agent One writes beats

Ask for a beat, drums or percussion, and Agent One writes the hits onto a Drum Kit One track.

    • Add an 8-bar lo-fi drum beat
    • Add a trap hi-hat pattern with rolls
    • Add percussion to the chorus
  • Audio to MIDI

Turn a recorded drum part into hits on a Drum Kit One track, starting on the SV Synth Kit.

How it works

  1. Load Drum Kit One

In AI Studio, choose Instruments under Studio in the sidebar and click Drum Kit One. It loads onto your MIDI track, or a new one, and its window opens.

  2. Pick a kit

Choose one of 10 kits from the kit menu, then click a pad to select it and set its TUNE, DECAY and LEVEL.

  3. Play or program the beat

Hit the pads with your mouse, the Q to I and A to K keys, or a MIDI pad controller in browsers that support Web MIDI. Arm the track and press Record, or draw hits in the piano roll.

  4. Mix and export

Shape the whole kit with DRIVE, CRUSH, FILTER and COMP, add effects, then click Export. Drum Kit One renders into your song through the same engine you play.

Each of the 16 pads has its own tune, decay and level, so you can drop an 808 kick by a few semitones or tighten a snare.

Beats from Agent One

Ask Agent One for a beat, drums or percussion, and it writes the hits onto a Drum Kit One track you can edit in the piano roll.

Frequently asked questions

Is Drum Kit One a free online drum machine?

Yes. Drum Kit One is included on every Soundverse plan, including Free, and hitting its pads uses no tokens. It works inside AI Studio, where Free covers 3 projects with up to 3 tracks each and MP3 export, and Drum Kit One fills one track. Creator lifts that to 8 projects and 8 tracks and unlocks WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG and stems. Asking Agent One to write a beat uses tokens.

How good do Drum Kit One's drums sound?

Every Drum Kit One sound is synthesized in your browser rather than played from a sample, across 16 pads: kick, 808 kick, snare, clap, rim, closed and open hat, ride, low and high tom, percussion, shaker, crash, cowbell, clave and an FX zap. Each kit sets its own tuning and processing, and you can retune any pad. Soundverse renders your export through the same Drum Kit One engine you hear.

Can I use beats from Drum Kit One commercially?

Your Soundverse plan decides that. On the Free plan, beats you make with Drum Kit One are for personal use. Paid plans include a commercial license; the Pricing page lists what each plan covers. You need the rights to anything else in the project that you upload or record, such as loops, samples or vocals.

What can't Drum Kit One do?

Drum Kit One has no step sequencer: you program beats in Soundverse AI Studio's piano roll or record them live. It can't load your own drum samples, so use Sampler One for recorded sounds, and its window floats or docks but has no fullscreen mode. MIDI pad controllers work in browsers that support Web MIDI, and it runs only inside AI Studio.

What is Drum Kit One?

Drum Kit One is Soundverse's drum machine: a 16-pad drum synthesizer built into AI Studio and played in your browser. It loads onto a MIDI track and opens with a kit menu, a 4×4 pad grid, per-pad TUNE, DECAY and LEVEL, and kit-wide DRIVE, CRUSH, FILTER and COMP. You play it from your mouse, your computer keyboard, the piano roll or, in browsers that support Web MIDI, a pad controller.

How do I program a beat in Drum Kit One?

In Soundverse AI Studio, open the piano roll for the Drum Kit One track and draw hits with the Pencil: each pad has its own note, from MIDI note 36 for the kick up to note 51 for the FX zap. You can also arm the track, press Record and play the pads live, then move notes and set velocities in the piano roll.

Can I use a MIDI pad controller with Drum Kit One?

Yes, in browsers that support Web MIDI. Connect your pad controller or keyboard and open Drum Kit One in Soundverse AI Studio: MIDI notes 36 to 51 trigger the 16 pads in order, starting with the kick on note 36. Arm the track and press Record to capture what you play into a MIDI clip.

Can Agent One make a beat on Drum Kit One?

Yes. In Soundverse AI Studio, open Agent One from the top bar with its Studio switch on and ask for a beat, drums or percussion. Agent One writes the hits onto a Drum Kit One track, which you can edit, re-kit or extend like a part you programmed yourself. Each Agent One request uses tokens; Drum Kit One itself is free.

Can Soundverse make a full instrumental instead?

Yes. Drum Kit One is for playing and programming drums yourself. If you'd rather describe a track and get a finished instrumental, use Soundverse's AI Music Generator, which generates music from a text prompt and uses tokens per run. You can then open the result in AI Studio and add your own Drum Kit One part on top.

Build your beat in Drum Kit One
