How we picked
A remix app has to do at least one of four jobs well: change a song's genre or energy, re-sing it, cut an edit or mashup, or get the result ready to release. We checked which jobs each app covers, what you can download and what its license allows. Most start from a track you upload, so rights get their own section below.
Watch: the Soundverse team ranks 50 AI music tools in its 2026 tier list.
1. Soundverse: best AI remix app overall

Soundverse is the AI record label for independent artists. Its AI Remix takes a reference song and a prompt, such as "make it a slow synthwave remix," plus optional new lyrics. It shifts genre, energy and arrangement while keeping the vibe. Keep the original vocals or replace them, re-singing the song with new lyrics or a new voice. It's built on clean stem separation.
Around the remix:
- New voices: Voice Swap and Voice Clone are on Creator and up. Voice Clone builds a reusable model from a 15 to 30 second clip, with consent verification, rights checks and watermarking by default.
- More edits: Extend and Inpainting, also Creator and up.
- Studio: AI Studio is an in-browser multitrack studio with collaboration.
- One chat: Agent One plans, generates, edits and arranges, and can chain these tools (Standard mode on Creator handles multi-step requests).
- Lyrics: the AI Lyrics Writer & Co-Writer is on Free.
- Export and check: WAV and stems export, the Copyright Checker and the Watermark Checker are on Creator and up.
Pricing: Free (a trial of three full-length songs on the v5 model, five MP3 downloads a month, Personal license), Creator $12.49/mo ($9.99 billed yearly), Pro $31.24/mo ($24.99 yearly), Max from $72/mo ($60 yearly). See Soundverse pricing.
Where it stops: AI Remix isn't on the free plan. Releasing a derivative fits the Sample license on Pro, and streaming revenue needs the Distribution license on Max.
Watch: a complete tour of Soundverse, from beginner to pro.
2. Suno: best for covers of your own Suno songs
Suno is the best-known prompt-to-song app. Its help center says Remix "encompasses four workflows: Cover, Extend, Reuse, and Speed," and its pricing page lists remixing (extend, cover, adjust speed) on every plan. Premier adds Suno Studio and lets you "add new vocals or instrumentals to existing songs."
Pricing: Free has 50 credits a day, no commercial rights and no monthly downloads (Suno's FAQ describes up to 7 lifetime trial downloads for personal use). Pro is $10/mo ($96 billed yearly) with 20 downloads a month and commercial use rights. Premier is $30/mo ($288 yearly).
Where it stops: Suno's Remix FAQ says that if you remix someone else's song, "your version is not eligible for commercial use." See Soundverse vs Suno.
3. Fadr: best free remix and mashup maker
Fadr calls its Remix page "an online AI-powered studio for making remixes and mashups of your favorite songs." Add stems from your uploads or Fadr's library, then trim, loop, and change key and tempo while "Fadr AI handles synchronization." Its DJ page makes mashups and transitions in real time.
Pricing: Fadr Basic is free, with "unlimited stems, remixes, and dj sets with high quality MP3 downloads." Fadr Plus is $10/mo or $100/yr and adds Pro Stems, WAV downloads, one-hour uploads and DAW plugins.
Worth knowing: WAV and individual track downloads need Plus. You can share a remix straight to SoundCloud.
4. RipX DAW: best for reworking a mix note by note
RipX DAW from Hit'n'Mix splits mixed audio into layers you edit note by note. Remixers can "Copy/Paste any Layer or part of a song into another song to create instant mashups," make acapellas and shift their key to fit another song, or swap a part for a different instrument.
Pricing: RipX DAW is $99 and RipX DAW PRO is $198 in its US store, both one-time purchases, with a 21-day free trial of PRO.
Worth knowing: it's desktop software for macOS and Windows, and a license covers up to two of the owner's computers.
5. Kits.ai: best for re-singing a part in a new voice
Kits.ai converts a vocal you upload or record into another voice from its library. Kits says every library voice is "cleared for commercial use" and recommends reviewing each vocal's terms. Professional voice cloning and a Choir tool start on Starter.
Pricing: Free (15 conversion minutes, 0 download minutes), Starter $10/mo (60 conversion minutes, 15 download minutes), Producer $30/mo, Professional $60/mo.
Where it stops: the free plan has no download minutes, so exporting starts on Starter. See Soundverse vs Kits.ai.
6. Moises: best for stems, key and tempo
Moises calls itself "The Creative Suite for Musicians." It separates up to 27 stem types, changes key and tempo, and Moises Studio lets you arrange, record and edit a shared session in a browser. On Pro, Voice Studio transforms "the timbre of original vocal recordings" to match its AI voice models.
Pricing: the free plan allows 5 uploads a month, files up to 5 minutes and 2- or 4-stem presets. Moises asks you to log in to see full pricing for Premium and Pro.
Worth knowing: Moises says it "only trains our models on licensed materials." See Soundverse vs Moises.
7. LALAL.AI: best for clean stems in your DAW
LALAL.AI pitches its Stem Splitter for "remixing, sampling, practice, and quick edits." Pick vocals, drums, bass, guitar, synth, strings or wind, and export MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG or AAC. It also has a Voice Changer and a Lead/Back Splitter.
Pricing: Starter is "Always free" with 10 minutes. Lite is $9.99/mo, or $7.50/mo billed annually ($90 a year), and Pro is $19.99/mo, or $15/mo billed annually ($180), both with unlimited relaxed-queue minutes.
Worth knowing: its comparison table lists result downloads on Lite and Pro, not Starter. See Soundverse vs LALAL.AI, or our best AI vocal removers and stem splitters for more stem tools.
8. djay Pro: best for live remixes and mashups
djay Pro from Algoriddim uses Neural Mix to "play and remix singular elements from multiple tracks in real-time," isolating beats, instruments and vocals. It connects to Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, SoundCloud and Beatport, and a sequencer and looper build loops during a set.
Pricing: djay is a free download. A djay PRO subscription, bought through the Apple, Google or Microsoft store, unlocks the full feature set on up to five devices.
Worth knowing: it's built for DJ sets. For offline acapella and instrumental export, Algoriddim makes a separate Mac app, Neural Mix Pro.
Before you release a remix
- Own it or get permission. Only remix tracks you own or have permission to use. Remixing someone else's recording needs the rights holders' permission before you release it, whatever app you use. Suno's upload flow, for example, asks you to agree to terms "stating that we own the material."
- Match the license. Soundverse's free plan is Personal (non-commercial). Releasing a derivative fits the Sample license on Pro ("flip & release derivatives"), and streaming revenue needs the Distribution license on Max ("collect streaming revenue"). Distribution to Spotify, Apple Music and 150+ stores is coming to Max, with self-serve launching in early November 2026.
- Check first. Run the Copyright Checker and Watermark Checker and read the Terms of Service.
- Your words count. Under the US Copyright Office's 2025 Part 2 report, prompts alone don't make you the author, but lyrics you write yourself can be protected.
This isn't legal advice.
