Prompt
(Verse 1 - AABB) Faded photographs, a dusty shoe box find, Memories flicker, leaving yesterday behind. Her name, a whisper, on the tip of my tongue, Years have passed, but the feeling still so strong. (Verse 2 - ABAB) We built a world of forests in the backyard's green, Now city lights bleed into the night, it's true. I swear I still remember what it used to mean, To have someone like you, next to me, through and through. (Chorus - CABA) Searching faces in the crowded street, Every smile, a phantom, a fleeting ghost. Hoping our paths in sometime will meet, A fragile hope, the part of me that hurts the most. (Verse 3 - Free Verse) Empty swing sets. Rusting chains. The sun bleeds orange on the concrete where we drew our dreams. Did you remember the fort we built of blankets? Do you ever think of me? I do. Way more often than I want to. (Verse 4 - ABAB) I trace her name online, a digital trace, False positives and profiles, a sea of lies. A hollow ache, a yearning in this empty space, Sometimes I just wish I could look into your eyes. (Outro - Free Verse) (Beat fades slightly) Maybe some things aren't meant to be found. (Beat becomes more quiet) Maybe lost is just another word for gone... (Beat cuts out) But still... I keep looking. (Silence).
