Riley Williams Joins Soundverse AI as CTO
We are excited to announce that Riley Williams has joined Soundverse AI as Chief Technology Officer. Riley brings extensive experience from his work at Meta Reality Labs and Amazon Photos, along with a deep personal connection to music creation that aligns with our mission to enhance human creativity through AI.
In Riley's own words
"I've recently joined Soundverse AI as CTO, where I'll have the opportunity to apply my industry engineering experience, ML research skill set, and music domain knowledge and passion as a producer all towards one ideal role. It has long been a goal of mine to merge my passion for music production and my industry experience as an applied scientist into a cohesive effort like this... I'm incredibly optimistic about our trust-first vision for the future of generative audio for both artists and consumers alike."

Riley's Journey in Technology and Music
Riley's background spans over a decade of machine learning work at Meta Reality Labs and Amazon Photos, where he built computer vision and multimodal AI models serving hundreds of millions of users. At Reality Labs Research specifically, he focused on contextual AI, developing large vision-language models to infer user goals in support of digital, wearable agents, His work encompassed everything from creating datasets and benchmarks to training models and building AR prototype experiences.
His research foundation extends across astrophysics, fusion plasma physics, and contextual AI; fields where theoretical rigor meets the kind of problem-solving that reimagines entire systems. As he reflects: "I originally studied astrophysics and fusion plasma, because the depth of investigations, and the challenges required to truly understand the way the universe worked, from the smallest to largest scales, was infinite. I came to understand the endeavor for those challenges can be found in any field."
Alongside his technical work, Riley maintains an active life as an electronic music producer, releasing under the monikers Meridian, Wile, and Strahlen. For him, music represents more than a hobby. It's a constant companion that informs his approach to technology. "Music is more than just a hobby," he explains. "When I can't be engaged in making it, it is always there with me, and on my mind. These days, the hours melt away when I have the chance to get in flow, and just 'play.' There's nothing like the joy of getting lost in the flow, and the euphoria of successfully transforming what was in your mind to a reality coming through the speaker."
This dual perspective, as both technologist and artist, shapes his approach to AI in music creation. "Being an artist and musician myself, there's an obvious tension between that and technology that generates in the same domain," Riley acknowledges. "What resolves that conflict is Soundverse's aim to be the trust layer between artists and AI. Creating a marketplace for musicians that both extends their reach through discovery on our platform, offering another avenue of revenue, and acting as an extension of their capabilities are all positives in my view."
Looking Ahead
As Soundverse AI continues to push the boundaries of generative audio, Riley Williams brings exactly the leadership we need for this pivotal moment. Working alongside Co-founder and CEO Sourabh Pateriya, Riley will guide our technical roadmap as we build the next generation of AI-powered music creation tools.
The work so far, including major upgrades to our AI Magic Tools like SAAR (our voice-controlled AI co-producer), enhanced song generation capabilities that blend genres with emotional texture, and precision stem separation through Splitter AI, was enough to convince him this was the team to bet on. That confidence goes both ways.
Riley's vision extends beyond simply building tools that generate music. "If we succeed, then my hope is to have normalized ethical data practices in addition to advocating for adding value not just to those who enjoy the art we enable, but the vocalists, producers, and musicians helping to create it," he explains. This approach, combining multimodal AI expertise with hands-on music production experience, will be instrumental as we navigate the intersection where technology meets artistry.
With Riley's technical leadership, we're creating a new paradigm where AI enhances human creativity rather than replacing it. You'll hear more from him, and from us, soon.
